A day to remember

Doing something different at work can be so invigorating. It can break the routine. It can encourage staff to interact better with each other and it can bring your team together. Learning @ work day is a simple and easy way to treat your staff to some fun and to lift spirits.

You can make a whole day of it with team building exercises, job swaps and in-house training programmes. Or you can simply have a fun learning session during lunchtime. It really is up to you. The most important thing is that you take part and bring your team together.

The beauty of Learning @ work day is that there is no fee for participating organisations. Costs may be incurred if you commission outside resources to organise your event or deliver the learning sessions, but many businesses appoint a member of staff to become their Learning @ work day co-ordinator instead.

After all, giving staff ownership and allowing them to manage their own event, is another way to motivate your team. Whichever way you plan your event, you’ll be amazed at how enthusiastic people can become about learning.

Learning @ work day represents a significant PR opportunity for organisations getting involved. We aim to get behind Learning @ work day in a big way with an extensive local and national PR campaign.We will be sharing information of your event with editors of the Welsh Press, securing airtime on radio and we will be liaising with AMs, MPs and MEPs to ensure continuing political support for this major learning initiative. In addition to the media interest generated by our marketing efforts, we will also help you to create successful PR of your own.

We’ll help you promote your event

Maximise the PR opportunities, with our free PR ‘toolkit’ that includes advice on how to prepare PR campaigns. If you haven’t got much experience of PR you will find the advice very useful. We can also supply free A3 posters for you to display around your office, factory or staff canteen. They are designed with a blank space at the bottom so that you can fill in the time, date and a short description of your event.
